SUMMARY OF POSITION:
We are seeking a Physician Assistant to work as an integral member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing surgical assistance in the OR, Cath Lab, and/or bedside. Responsibilities also include seeing patients in consultation, managing patients in consultation, and managing postoperative patients in the ICU, step-down unit, and clinic.
A minimum of two (2) years’ prior experience working as a Physician Assistant in a CT Surgery program is required. Proficiency in endoscopic radial artery harvesting is preferred. Experience with ICU care of post-operative CT surgery patients is preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Medical Physician Assistant License
Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment.
National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment.
Must have minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a physician assistant, with at least two (2) years working in a CT surgery program. CT surgery experience must be within the past six (6) years.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
