- Adult Hematologist Sickle Cell Disease
Description
Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center is seeking an Adult Hematologist with a strong clinical interest in Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) to join and help expand a comprehensive hematology program serving patients across South Louisiana.
This is an opportunity for a physician who is passionate about improving outcomes for individuals living with SCD and interested in helping build and shape a growing adult sickle cell program within a collaborative, mission-driven health system.
Position Overview
The Adult Hematologist will serve as the primary clinician with responsibilities that include:
- Providing comprehensive, longitudinal care for adults with Sickle Cell Disease, as well as other benign hematologic conditions including anemias, thrombosis, and hemostasis disorders
- Partnering with system and community stakeholders to further develop adult SCD clinical services, patient education initiatives, research opportunities, and community outreach programs
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary care model that includes physicians, advanced practice providers, behavioral health, pharmacy, social work, and pain management support
- Participating in shared call responsibilities with limited nights and weekend coverage
Optional involvement in medical student and resident education
Qualifications
Successful candidates will:
- Have completed, or be completing, fellowship training in Adult Hematology or Hematology Oncology
- Be board certified or board eligible in Hematology
- Be eligible for unrestricted Louisiana medical licensure and DEA registration
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease
